Can you believe it? Christmas is almost here. Are you ready? If you are like me, you had some terrific ideas for buying, baking, decorating, creating, etc. I hope you all made better progress than I did, and, as usual, I am already making plans for next year and getting an early start.....SURE! Somehow though I always seem to get it all done in the nick of time. Even though it is hectic at this time of year, it is still the best time of year. It's been a very good year for We Three, and I'm believing for an even better year in 2010. Many new ideas are roaming around in my head, and when the excitement of Christmas is over, I'll be ready to go.

Recently, I learned a new (for me) technique to finish my rugs using wool strips and a crochet technique that Karen Kahle (Primitive Spirits) uses. I believe I found it on Primitive Spirits Flickr. I really enjoyed it. It was easy and looks great. Check it out!

I want to thank you all for making this such a wonderful year for We Three. I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. God Bless all of you.

Where did the summer go

I should say what happened to our fall. It was a busy summer for me. I set up my Etsy shop (link to the left) which took quite a while for me. After all, there are limits to my computer expertise.

The shop will include hooked items and other hand-made needle art items, maybe some wool, etc. There will be OOAK (one-of-a-kind) hooked items designed by me that will not be offered as patterns. They will come signed and dated. There will also be We Three designs that have been hooked and will be for sale, possibly some wool, etc. Hope you can stop and visit some time. My next offering will be the Log Cabin mat pictured above. It measures approximately 9 x 10 and should be on my Etsy later today.

This has been a disappointing fall for us here in western PA. With all the rain I had to keep postponing the new roof I needed, but finally last weekend in the miserable rain a group of amazing men laid my new roof. Who knew you could get so excited about a new roof. It looks great and I am ever so grateful for the wonderful job they did on a nasty rainy day.

I would bet that most of you love fall as much as I do. For me it's that wonderful time of year when the hot days of summer are over and a warm fire, a cup of hot tea and your favorite hooking project make for a special time. Tomorrow one of my best friends and a hooking buddy, Sharon, is having a wonderful fall luncheon for a group of us hookers at her beautiful log home. Can't wait to see everyone and discuss our favorite subject. I hope that wherever you are that you are enjoying a beautiful fall day too.

Visiting The Wool Studio

Wow! It has been a really long time since my last communication. Let me bring you up to date. In late April, myself, my sister and three friends made a weekend trip to Lancaster, PA. It is such a quaint and beautiful place. While we were there we stopped at The Wool Studio to pick up some wool. Talk about hooker's paradise. Rebecca was not feeling very well that day but graciously gave us the time to pick up our wool. Here are some pics. The first is of the four of us at the Macaroni Grill, yours truly far left. The second one is of Rebecca. We had a great time.

Currently, I am getting ready for Colonial Days in Volant, PA. We will be there on Saturday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Our good friends, Jan and Claire at The James Creek Galleries do this annually, and I am so happy to be a part of it. Check out their website for details http://www.jamescreekgalleries.com/. Anyone in the area come and visit.

I also completed two new designs. One is Polkadot inspired by a happy little pony that I spotted on a piece of pottery. I love stars and designed the star mat using wool from The Wool Studio. Both should be on the website sometime next week. Gotta go, still lots to do before Saturday. Check back for all the details and possibly some pictures.

Saturday, May 2, 2009

Good Morning! Just had my coffee and am pondering another somewhat chilly day in western PA with the possibility of even more rain. I know somewhere it is a beautiful Spring day. However, I have more than enough to do inside.

I have been working on some new hooking and (hopefully,as I have not done this yet)plan to share my "in progress" pics with you. The first is a future pillow that is about 16" square. It is divided into 4 sections, each with a star. It is almost finished (probably today or tomorrow). Don't have a name for this one yet. Any suggestions? The second one is a Christmas stocking. My plan is to finish it as a stocking and stick some vintage Christmas items into it and then hang it. The last one is not my usual style, but I just was inspired to do it. It also will be a pillow. My problem at this point is how to finish the center. My sister thinks an old vintage or antique button is a good idea. I, on the other hand, am thinking about a woolen penny in the center. Decisions, decisions!
Wow! The day seems to be brightening up, so I better stop for now. I have an order to get ready and plenty to do outside. Have a great weekend!

Welcome

Welcome to my blog. This is very new to me, but I think it will be a great way for me to keep in touch with my customers as well as other "hookers" out there. This is my first post so bear with me as I struggle along. Any pointers would be helpful. I have visited so many great blogs as I researched this that I will be happy to be half as good.

Shortly there will be a link to this blog on my website www.wethreerughooking.com to direct everyone.

In the days to come I will be posting pics of my newest designs in progress, and for all who were on my mailing list in the past, I plan on sharing some of what has been going on with the three of us.
